A three-session pathway programme for parents who want to support their young person through school and beyond, with more calm, more confidence, and less of the quiet worry we all carry.
Every parent wants their child to be okay, to be happy, to find their way. But somewhere between the report cards, the comparisons, and the pressure that seems to build a little more each year, it's easy to lose sight of what actually helps. You end up worried, and unsure whether the way you're showing up is making things better or quietly adding to the weight.
This programme is a space to step back and think clearly. Not about fixing your child, there's nothing to fix, but about understanding what they really need from you, sorting your own hopes and fears from theirs, and finding a way to support them that brings you both closer rather than adding pressure. It's the permission to exhale, and the clarity to show up the way you want to.
No score defines your child. And no parent has to work this out alone.
We gently separate the threads: your own hopes, fears and the pressure you may be carrying, from what your young person actually needs. Naming what's yours and what's theirs is where the clarity begins.
We move from who you hoped they'd be to who they actually are, their strengths, their pressures, and what a good and happy life might really look like for this particular child. No score defines them, so what does?
We turn that clarity into how you talk with them and support them day to day, especially in the hard moments. You leave with a way of being present that brings you closer, without adding pressure, and a plan for keeping it up.
Three 60-minute sessions, online. No lock-in.
The moment you're in, we look after the rest. There's nothing to arrange or chase, and no waiting to hear back.
Dan spent his career in education, first in the classroom, then in school leadership as an assistant principal, where he was recognised with an education excellence award for outstanding improvement. He's sat with countless young people and their families through the pressures of school, and seen up close what helps a child thrive, and what quietly gets in the way.
He's also a parent, and knows the worry, the second-guessing, and the wish to just get it right for them. That's a big part of why More Than a Score exists: to help families see past the scores and the noise, to the young person in front of them.
Laura has lived and breathed the peaks, pressure and rhythm of high school, as a classroom teacher and as a VCAA exam marker and supervisor. She's seen the system from angles most parents never do, and knows exactly where the pressure on young people comes from.
She's a parent too, and what she loves is creating the space for someone to really think, that moment where a person realises they already know more than they thought, and can take the next step with confidence. For a parent, that clarity changes everything.
We're both former educators, accredited coaches, and parents of school-age children. We've felt the worry you're carrying, and we know how much it helps to think it through with someone who understands both the system and the love behind the question.
Not at all. There's nothing to fix, and no judgement here. Every parent is doing their best with a hard job. This is simply a space to think clearly and find calmer, more confident ways to support your young person.
Both, gently. We spend time understanding your young person clearly, and time sorting your own hopes and worries so they don't get in the way. Supporting them well starts with a bit of clarity for you.
That's completely normal. Most parents know within the first session whether it's helping. There's no pressure and no judgement, just come willing to think honestly, and see how it feels.
One to one and online, 60 minutes each, at times that suit you. You'll book each session directly into our calendar, and we'll be in touch with everything you need beforehand, including the link to join.
Two former educators, accredited coaches, and parents, now behind More Than a Score. Between us we've spent years alongside young people and families through the pressures of school, and we understand it from every side. There's a little more about each of us just above.
The EMCC is the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, one of the longest-standing professional bodies for coaches worldwide. It accredits coaches across several levels, each reflecting assessed competence, real experience, and a commitment to a professional code of ethics. For you, it's a simple reassurance: you're working with coaches whose practice has been independently held to a recognised standard, with the care and confidentiality that comes with it.
